Thoughts on this pregnancy

I removed that floating baby graphic from my side bar. It was freaking a few people out (myself included). I replaced it with a ticker from TickerFactory.com. When I think about this baby I refer to it as my little butterfly, so I thought this ticker was appropriate.

I will preface this next part by saying that I am very lucky in that this pregnancy has been very easy so far. But I do reserve the right to complain now and then...

This has been the most exhausting of all my pregnancies. I have yet to hit the "Golden trimester" even though I am already 17 weeks and should have more energy. Technically I do have more energy than I did at the end of my first trimester, but it is fairly easy to top that one. I barely stayed awake for 2 whole months. I am really not looking forward to how tired I will be in the last trimester.

I had mild nausea during a few weeks early on in this pregnancy and I thought I was out of the woods. Recently I have started to feel nauseous on my drive to work (after I have eaten breakfast). Maybe it is my breakfast that is not agreeing with me, maybe it is my work. Either way, it is no fun.

I have yet to feel the baby move. I know, I am only 17 weeks along. It could be a few more weeks before I feel anything... But come on kid. Throw your momma a rope here. Feeling you move around would make me so so happy!

Things I have done since becoming pregnant:

  • Put the wet clothing into the dryer and forgotten to turn it on (I have done this twice).
  • Made tuna casserole but forgot to add the tuna.
  • Only remembered to pluck my eye brows twice since being pregnant (half grown in eyebrows are not a pretty sight)
  • Only actually "done" my hair once (again, not a pretty sight)
  • Repeatedly brought salad in to work for my lunch and forgotten the salad dressing (I bought a bottle and left it at work, problem solved).
Even though I am much more tired and slightly more uncomfortable this pregnancy my belly is remarkably small. By that I mean that I am 17 weeks along and still wearing most of my regular pants. I was thinking back to my pregnancy with M. I had attended a funeral at 17 weeks along during that pregnancy and had worn a long black dress. I remember being visibly pregnant and having many family members come over and comment on my belly. This time I am showing but it is not as pronounced. I am not complaining about this at all.

Glad your pregnancy is going 'mostly' well so far.:)
I always forget to pluck/shave or just can't be bothered. Maybe you should look into waxing?

Oh my goodness! I was like you when I was pregnant, too, forgetting everything, all the time. Actually, I am still that way now... hmmm... guess my pregnancy brain is never going to go away!
I hope you have a period in this pregnancy where you are not so tired, because it's not fun, especially when you have to look after two other little children! That can't be easy! And as if you are still in your regular pants - lucky you! I tell you, from the day I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I was out of my regular pants so quickly! Good luck with everything!

i always wonder how moms do it after the first child... i was so tired the first trimester I can't imagine having to care for kids at the same time. i had just moved and would unpack a box and take a nap. take a shower and take a nap. etc.

Hee hee...that one about the tuna cracked me up. One time just after Gal Smiley was born, I put some dishes in the kitchen garbage and some garbage in the dishwasher, then turned it on. Really clean garbage is still garbage!

I'm sure you'll get through okay but oh may yes, the last six weeks or so are really hard with two older ones. I remember my older two watched a LOT of movies while I dozed beside them on the couch. Remember it's only temporary...you can do it!

Complain away. I'm not pregnant and I forget something every time I make coffee. Sometimes it's the water, sometimes it's the actual coffee. Once I remembered everything except to replace the pot, and all the coffee went into the cutlery drawer. It appears we never recover from pregnancy brain.

I have forgotten EVERYTHING and I am way more uncomfortable than ever before and way tired.

My second trimester was better though but late in it...

You are going to rock!

Again, I barely manage with one kids, how are you doing it with two and pregnany? I'm in awe.

I've done the una thing and my husband does the wash in the dryer thing ALL the time. It's just busy brain!

Hope your energy continues to go up, for a while at least.

well....at least you have pregnancy as an excuse....we have "bagless" grocery stores here so you have to use reusable bags or crates as the grocery stores don't even HAVE boxes or bags. Ask me how many times I have done an entire grocery shop only to find myself, once again in line with no bags.....literally over 10 times...it is RIDICULOUS!! Do you know how many reusable bags I have had to purchase????

I have to say "Thank you" for removing the creepy floating baby. LOL Baby ticker is much better!

I do all those things and I (unfortunately) do not even have the excuse of being pregnant.

For Apple I was in mat pants at 8weeks! I wish I had made it that far in regular pants. Glad to hear that pregnancy is going smoothly, minus the brain freezes (which I still have).
