I have become obsessed with watching "Bringing home baby" and "Baby Story" on TLC each morning while I enjoy my coffee. Mid pregnancy these shows freaked me out. Now I am all teary and excited and can't wait to be there myself. Although I don't plan on pushing while laying on my back. The only think I can think of is that they tell the moms on these shows that they have to lay on their backs because it is easier for the camera to film it. I pushed in a squat with D and I hope to do that again with this little dude. M was a C-section so I had no choice with him :)
I also noticed that all the moms on Baby Story bottle feed and use disposable diapers. I bet it is part of the endorsement rules. I think all the shows I have watched I have seen one child at the breast. Interesting.

Interesting... I delivered all three on my back and there weren't any cameras involved!
I watched those shows obsessively when I was pregnant, but had absolutely no interest in them once I had the baby!
Hang in there... it won't be long now!
At the end with both my boys I too was obsessed with these shows. I cried and cried and couldn't wait. My pet peeve is the lack of breastfeeding information they have. I'm always shouting advice at the tv...don't give up!!! You can do it. It takes time, you'll get there. How come these poor people get no support or good information?
I watched that show oveeer and oveeer again while I was expecting and BAWLED each time the baby came out... I think all of the babies are bottlefed because breastfeeding is so "controrversial" - that's my guess. Or people who let tv crews film their births are more prone to bottlefeeding. Dunno.
Love you girl....you are amazing. Can't wait to see you and that baby.
ps: STOP watching all that TV and get you pregnant butt out salsa dancing or something!!!!!!!!! xoxoxox
I was the same watching all of those shows... now they freak me out! Get walking!!! Come on baby we are all waiting to meet you!
Want a tear jerker?!?! Watch The Business of Being Born! AHHH! I watched it repeatedly before giving birth to Cordi!! Totally empowering!
Good luck!!!
This is such an exciting time!! I'm happy for you!
Funny, after having J, I couldn't bring myself to watch those shows anymore. Hope you are resting well today.
Yay for you for keeping your own values in there, as you watch! And that's right: get up on the bed, make them bring you a birthing bar, and hold on while you push! Use the gravity!
