I wasn't originally schedule for this #marksover (their catchy hashtag for the Marks Makeover :) ). On Tuesday I was on twitter when my friend Christine of Coffees and Commutes tweeted that she was getting a #marksover. I commented on how lucky she was, how I wished I could get a makeover as well and for her to have fun. Later that day I received an e-mail from the Marketing company that was organizing this event saying that she had seen my tweet and would love to invite me as well!!! I was so excited I accepted before I considered all the implications. I have D2, 8.5 months old who is only happy with me, Kevin or my sister. This makeover would not be much fun if I had D2 on my lap fussing the whole time. Kevin would have taken time off but that day his work was hosting a conference and he was expected to attend. My mother was away on an Alaskan Cruise or I would have asked her to come... That left my sister. I called her that night and begged her. Bless her she accepted and took a few hours off work to babysit little D2 while I was pampered to the max.
I was given a tour of the store, a personal stylist helped me pick out some clothing, I had my makeup done by a professional makeup artist and the my hair done by a funny, talented hair designer. To top it all off I had a professional photo shoot at the end. It was tons of fun and I was on cloud nine the entire day. It has been 5 days since the makeover and I am still sooo happy. I drove past a Marks today and smiled just looking at their logo. On Thursday they are having a ladies night (20% off everything in store from 5pm till close) and I am going to go back and get myself a pair of much needed winter boots! I love the idea that their winter boots are salt repellent. No need to treat these babies every season! I am looking forward to putting their boots to the test and I will report back in the spring to let you know if they are true to their word.
Thanks Marks, I think my smile says it all.
