Marks made me over

This week I was one of a number of lucky bloggers who was chosen to have a makeover at Marks (the store formerly known as Marks Work Wearhouse). Marks is in the process of re-branding and getting the word out that they are not only a place to get work clothing and boots (although they do still sell those items). They sell fashionable clothing for men and women and awesome looking shoes and boots. They have work out clothing for fitness enthusiasts and rugged wear for the outdoor lover.

I wasn't originally schedule for this #marksover (their catchy hashtag for the Marks Makeover :) ). On Tuesday I was on twitter when my friend Christine of Coffees and Commutes tweeted that she was getting a #marksover. I commented on how lucky she was, how I wished I could get a makeover as well and for her to have fun. Later that day I received an e-mail from the Marketing company that was organizing this event saying that she had seen my tweet and would love to invite me as well!!! I was so excited I accepted before I considered all the implications. I have D2, 8.5 months old who is only happy with me, Kevin or my sister. This makeover would not be much fun if I had D2 on my lap fussing the whole time. Kevin would have taken time off but that day his work was hosting a conference and he was expected to attend. My mother was away on an Alaskan Cruise or I would have asked her to come... That left my sister. I called her that night and begged her. Bless her she accepted and took a few hours off work to babysit little D2 while I was pampered to the max.

I was given a tour of the store, a personal stylist helped me pick out some clothing, I had my makeup done by a professional makeup artist and the my hair done by a funny, talented hair designer. To top it all off I had a professional photo shoot at the end. It was tons of fun and I was on cloud nine the entire day. It has been 5 days since the makeover and I am still sooo happy. I drove past a Marks today and smiled just looking at their logo. On Thursday they are having a ladies night (20% off everything in store from 5pm till close) and I am going to go back and get myself a pair of much needed winter boots! I love the idea that their winter boots are salt repellent. No need to treat these babies every season! I am looking forward to putting their boots to the test and I will report back in the spring to let you know if they are true to their word.

Thanks Marks, I think my smile says it all.

back to routine

I actually have some "me" time this morning. D2 is napping, M and D are off at school.

The last few weeks have been quiet for us. Last week D2 decided he wouldn't eat and chose to only nurse ALL.THE.TIME...DAY.AND.NIGHT. By the 4th day of that schedule I was pretty exhausted and snapping at the kids left right and centre. It really made for a wonderful last week of summer.

With all this no sleeping and crabbiness I fell of the Losing It band wagon. I just don't have the energy to diet at the moment. But not all is lost. I am still reading the blog for inspiration and I am making better choices, even if I am not entirely watching what I eat. It has been 3 weeks since I have had a donut, I consider that a victory.

The first week of school is here and both boys headed out (D on Tuesday and M today).

I can't get over that M is in SK . How time flies.

D2 is making progress towards crawling. He is doing the backwards crawl and the bum shuffle so I am sure crawling is next.

He just woke. I think I am going to go for a walk before the bus morning gets here. Have a good day all!
